Her friends, Annette and Starla, seem sceptical so Nadine proves it by urging them into the dark, dense woods for a leisurely stroll.
Nadine's fine! Really, she is! She's loving this adventure ... exploring the trails and discovering stuff, the smell of pine cones, wee paw prints. An ant nest.
There's nothing to be afraid of! Nadine is on top of the world (or, actually, at the tippety-top of a tree) - 'I am cow, hear me moo!'
But as the afternoon wears on and darkness descends, does Nadine's bravado slip?
Kids will love this funny, action-packed tale (featuring a rather unnerving tail), and will giggle along at the dramatic climax and super-cute ending. Jill Esbaum's rhyming humour is a treat and Gus Gordon's priceless illustrations pack their usual heft, with much to ogle and enjoy, beautifully parlaying the text.
I am reader, see me smile!
