No matter how much his friends encourage him to join in, he's just too scared. What if he tangles up his legs in hopscotch? Gets squashed by the ball in catch? Or lost in hide-and-seek? Far better to play it safe and just do nothing.
But that doesn't make for much fun. In fact, one day, Shrimpy looks around and discovers that all his friends are off happily playing, while he's all alone. Perhaps it's time for Shrimpy to take a deep breath, dive in, and learn that life isn't so scary after all …
This is a wonderfully warm and engaging book that young kids will love, especially those struggling with a lack of confidence. The illustrations are a big, bold, riot of delight and Shrimpy is a character you can't help but cheer for!
