When a burning couch is thrown out the window before it sets the house alight, the search begins for a replacement. The family wander among rummage sales until at last they find just what they are looking for. However, a large blue character sits on their sort of new couch, and that large blue character will not move.
Despite all attempts to free/heal/eject the blue fellow, he stays, much to little Sophie’s delight and the time comes when acceptance of Blue proves to be the wisest of moves.
Simple prose paired with slightly quirky illustrations makes for an endearing read I will return to many times over. He Came With the Couch is a keeper.
